We are delighted to welcome you to our new venue at Coogee Beach, where we hope the seaside atmosphere fosters the “spirited yet collegial” debate that defines our society.

This year’s theme, “The Evolution of Upper GI Practice”, challenges us to look beyond just the technical. While we will dive deep into robotic hernia repair and the latest biliary technologies, we are also dedicating significant time to the ‘Big Picture”.

We will examine the rising costs of surgery from the perspective of hospital executives and insurers. Crucially, we will also turn the lens on ourselves. Our final session explores the psychological and emotional weight of being an Upper GI surgeon - navigating the feelings of inadequacy or guilt that can accompany our work, as well as the unique pressures of success.
