Dr Chris Nahm

Dr. Chris Nahm is a Senior Lecturer (Surgery) at The University of Sydney. He is also a Consultant Hepatobiliary, Pancreatic and Transplant Surgeon at Westmead Hospital.

In 2019, he was awarded a PhD for pancreatic cancer research undertaken in the Bill Walsh Laboratory for Cancer Research in the Kolling Institute, The University of Sydney. He was the inaugural Harris Van Beek Scholar for Pancreatic Cancer Research in 2018, the Herbert and Gloria Kees Scholar in 2016 and previous Sydney Vital Scholar. His thesis explored predictors of oncological and postoperative outcome after pancreatic cancer surgery.

He then undertook a clinical fellowship in HPB/Upper GI surgery at Westmead Hospital in Sydney prior to moving to the UK to undertake a fellowship in hepatobiliary/transplant surgery at St James's University Hospital in Leeds. He serves on the Editorial Board of HPB (Elsevier) and is an Associate Editor BJC Reports (Springer Nature).

Dr. Nahm has an active role in teaching and research supervision of medical students and surgical trainees, and is Program Co-Director of the Masters of Surgery and Doctor of Clinical Surgery Program at the University of Sydney.
